Kept on a counter in the Library are five large books. Each tell those who glance within the pages about the students and professors at this school. Each house has its own leather-bound tome holding all the bios of those brave enough to scribble on the pages. A fifth book, smaller than the other four, holds information about professors.

| Potions Classroom
Down in the dungeons in a room surrounded with jars of potion ingredients, cubbies with potion-brewing supplies, and a gargoyle's mouth which spits ice cold water into a basin in the corner, potions brew, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Step inside to learn the intricacies of potions.

| Kitchens
Located directly below the Great Hall, the school kitchens are constantly bustling with activity. House elves go about their business day and night providing breakfast, luncheon, dinner and the occasional snack to the residents of the castle.

Deep in the abyss of the dungeons sits an empty Potions office. Used rarely by the previous professor, it is devoid of much except the musty, unused smell. Perhaps a new light will be shown into the office.

Like a tangled warren beneath the castle, the dungeons lie cold and black. And off-limits. While most of the darkest corridors are sealed off or patrolled, you can still lurk about at your own risk.

| Ground Floor |
| Entrance Hall
Up the steps to the glorious castle Hogwarts and just inside the set of magnificent double doors lies the Entrance Hall. Gleaming slabs of marble cover every inch of the foyer, a welcoming and impressive sight to all who step foot inside it. This is the beginning of the school. What you find from here could be anything; classes filled with lessons, dormitories filled with students, and every inch consumed by magic.

| Great Hall
A vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling which mirrors the sky outside is where meals, feasts, and other events occur. Four long tables for the four houses: closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and next to the far wall, Gryffindor. The professors sit at the High Table, a table on a raised platform at the front of the room.
On special evenings, that feel like they last for weeks, the Great Hall is magically transformed. Music, exotic fragrances, and other such things greet guests, encompassing an enchanted atmosphere in the room. However, leave your wands in your houses, for a pair of topiaries confiscate any wand not protected by special wards.

| Care of Magical Creatures Classroom
On the ground floor of the castle awaits a classroom with large windows and doors for easy access to the large holding corral outside. This spacious classroom is home for knowledge of magical creatures of all kinds.

| Herbology Office
Grudgingly located within the confines of the castle, Professor's office has the faint scent of dirt lingering in the air. Perhaps it is due to the assorted potted plants throughout the room or it could be her dirt covered greenhouse robes hanging near the door. In any event, if one cannot locate the professor in the greenhouses, this is the next likely location.

| Staff Room
Directly off the Entrance Hall sits an imposing room panelled in dark wood and dominated by a long ovoid table surrounded by large mis-matched chairs. Guarded by a pair of smart-mouthed gargoyles, it is the Hogwarts Staff Room, where the movers and shakers of the school create tremors of policy.

| Caretaker's Office
Located on the ground floor, the Caretaker's office is a place you never want to visit. Here you will find filing cabinet with records of the misdeeds of students, chains and manacles (just in case!), a cabinet full of confiscated magic items, and lots of forms to write up malefactors. Be careful, this office is not a good place to be!

| Muggle Studies Classroom
Understanding Muggles perceptions of how the world connects up is a big problem for Wizarding people. Letting go of a lot of our assumptions to grasp how limited Muggle perceptions can be and understanding this is vital for an understanding of how the Wizarding world can exist unperceived alongside the Muggle world. In this classroom, located on the first floor, students will investigate such matters.

| Transfiguration Office
At the north end of a first floor passageway coming from the great marble staircases sits the office of the Transfiguration professor. Seek your professor here, but do remember to knock.

On the first floor of the castle is a room filled with white sheeted beds, privacy screens, and the sent of various brewing potions. A conscientious nurse and student nurse await to help in any way possible should any fall ill or be injured.

| Defense Against the Dark Arts Office
Though little is known of DaDA professor, the office gives few clues to who they are. Scattered amongst tools of the class, personal items such as photographs are hidden. This windowless second floor office is where one may find the professor.

Every bookcase and shelf contains some interesting artifact collected on your professor's travels throughout the muggle world. Mainly house-hold items, one can expect this second floor office to be cluttered and scattered, but homey nonetheless.

Located within the library are thousands of books on thousands of shelves as well as the Cafe du Livre. | Quidditch Pitch
A grassy oval field, 500 feet long by 180 feet wide with a small circle in the center of the field where the balls are released, is located on the school grounds for quidditch matches. Shouts and chants from the crowds in the stands carry far and wide, alerting all magical folk and creatures of the exciting event.

| Northern Fields
In the large grassy plain between the Forbidden Forest and the Quidditch Pitch lies the Northern Fields. Nature enthusiasts are often found gallivanting about in this field, or sometimes a student simply in need of a nerve-calming walk.

To the east of Hogwarts Castle is a large, dark forest. This forest is strictly off limits to Hogwarts students. The forest is thick with trees--beech and sychamore are mentioned--but there are paths, brooks, and some clearings.

| Diagon & Knockturn Alley
Tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron pub in London will reveal an archway which is a portal into Diagon Alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. But be cautioned, traveling down an alley connected near Gringrotts one may find themselves in Knockturn Alley. Where rows of shops are devoted to the Dark Arts. Be careful of what may become of your reputation if you are found there.
